  • Day to day was learning how to break down different primal cut of pork

  • Yes, I am now a fully trained butcher of pork and have learnt many new skills within butchery

  • I was very happy with the programme as on the job learning suited me much better

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Tulip?
  • After the apprenticeship finished I was offered a chance to progress on to a level 3 course and have been given some fairly important tasks throughout the workplace so I would say I feel very well valued by tulip

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was run very well, and as someone with no experience in butchery the way the tasks were set out to learn made things easier by starting off with the easier work and work up to the most difficult

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • They were always available if needed and explained and talked us through many things they made it very easy to understand

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Great support all round at work courses have been offered to further progress and help with my qualifications as well as time of the line to complete course work

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • After completing the course it led me onto a shoulder line and through working hard and the help from mentors I was put onto a line on 100% bonus and I am now in a higher paid butcher grade to match the quality of my work so the money works out very well for me

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Tulip has allowed me to develop in many areas and not just in butchery, I have completed internal auditing and Root cause analysis basic training and am currently looking into doing internal audits

  • Yes

  • They have been amazing from day 1 and have help me and many others I work with, the opportunities are endless at tulip if you are willing to apply yourself and be willing to learn


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tulip?
  • Be willing to learn and listen and always ask questions about progression if you're will to put the hard work in
