  • Each day is different, depending on your placement you could be on the shop floor helping out with hands on work or at your desk replying to emails/updating spread sheets.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have both developed existing skills and learnt loads of new skills working alongside engineers and tech's in Leonardo. Everyone is very keen to help the apprentices.

  • I have really enjoyed my programme and would highly recommend it to others.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Leonardo?
  • I feel very valued, everyone in the company gives their time up to help apprentices, this can be in the form of a presentation explaining what their role is or working with them on a task

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very structured and if you have any questions the apprentice team will help out.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We receive loads of support, they are very approachable and happy to help.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support. My placement manager has spent a great deal of time with me even thought he is extremely busy.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary at the start is good and increases annually. If you live further away from the site make sure you car share and you will save a lot of money.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Plenty. There are several games of football arranged and groups of employee's go for a jog on lunch. There are also loads of social events organised such as pub quizzes.

  • 9. Would you recommend Leonardo to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It gives you the chance to explore different areas of the business and you have a say in your final placement and therefore your potential full time position.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Leonardo?
  • Ask loads of questions, speak to as many of the employees at the assessment centre & don't panic. If you are enthusiastic it will get you far.
