  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a commercial apprentice here at Tulip and I work for the multiples team. My main customers are Aldi, Lidl, Morrison's and Sainsburys. Day to day work consists of reports, setting up launches for new products, forecasts, interacting with site and the team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt many skills as I have been on many internal and external training courses. I have also gained my Level 3 Business and administration qualification. I have also developed better communication skills and how to interact with customers.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme very much. I have a great team, the workload is manageable. I am given time in work to complete my college work. I enjoy the work at Tulip as well as working towards my qualifications. Tulip met my expectations as they offer training and support which is great.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Tulip?
  • I feel valued at Tulip. I am included in many different things by my team and others. if I ever have a problem I am listened to and support is always available. I am involved in many tasks and projects around tulip which is great as it also gives me a chance to learn more and be more involved.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very organized and structured as I received an induction when I started, a lot of support and training. I have a good mentor. I am also allowed time to study for my work which is very beneficial. My programme is very organized as I also have a review every 3 months to go through my progress.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have a lot of support from my Tutor at College as he is available through email and by phone to discuss any issues I am having with the work. I have a lot of guidance to with the work. The general attitude towards my support is great from both the college and people I work with.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot of support from my team/Manager. My HR team are great as they are always available for support. My mentor is also available to offer support. I work around a lot of people everyday so support is easily accessible. There is a lot of guidance with any problems that may arise. There is a lot of guidance available from many people.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It meets my costs. For my apprenticeship I have little pay rises often to support with living costs and daily costs. Travel costs are also covered to. Location could be better however I receive support. I believe I am around/ on minimum wage for my age currently which is great and very beneficial.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes there are many company events and activities to attend to. There are many voluntary initiatives that are offered to everyone at Tulip to. Tulip team up with local communities such as primary schools etc to help. There are many sports activities such as charity bike rides available which allows you to have fun as well as raise money for charity.

  • Yes

  • Tulip is a great place to work as there any many opportunities and benefits. I am learning, earning and working towards my qualifications. Tulip is a lively place to work which can offer amazing opportunities. Tulip can help towards developing your skills and encourage you to go further. It is a great place to work and I would recommend working at Tulip to a friend.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tulip?
  • Stay Calm in interviews, think of past difficult situations at previous jobs and how you dealt with this. There are a lot of opportunities at Tulip. Experience helps. There can be many different stages of interviews, this is just to get to know you better. The process can be smooth and easy. There are also assessment days to.
