  • > My team are extremely helpful and assist me in many ways both professionally and personally. > the Company are helping me to develop myself and push me to further my academic studying > I do enjoy my apprenticeship even though the work load can be overwhelming at points

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Costain?
  • Costain value each and every employee and take the time to have reviews and apprenticeship catch ups to ensure i feel satisfied in what i am doing. They also encourage my to think about my next steps into the future and not just on the present.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There is not too much communication from the apprenticeship team/ learning and development.There needs to be improvement there. My line manager is not fully aware of my apprenticeship scheme and does not seem to grasp the complete idea of the programme. It would be helpful if the project had a point of contact for apprentices.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider are ok. I have to go to them for help mostly. They are good at providing information once your request it but do not necessarily offer it out.

  • My employer offer more support than my training provider but, they are not always communicating with the apprentices.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I personally believe that my apprentice salary is ok, but most much would make it sufficient. I have raised this before.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Costain are continuously doing social/networking and voluntary events. Many of which i have attended

  • Yes

  • Be yourself, be enthusiastic and try your hardest
