  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day-to-day role is as a social media and marketing apprentice, during the working day I will manage the different social media accounts for my company either on LinkedIn or Twitter. I will also assist my colleagues with anything they might need help with during the day, whether it's from a creative perspective or my own opinion. Some projects I have worked on in my company are planning and assisting in events for customers, writing blogs about the workplace/industry etc.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed working alongside some great industry professionals which have taught me some great tips to use in my future career. The company I have come in to has been a great learning curve as I feel like it's a challenging industry to start off in.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by The Juice Academy?
  • I have felt quite valued through The Juice Academy, they have offered us some great opportunities to get out of the office and meet professionals and gain more knowledge to use in the workplace. However I do feel that The Juice Academy don't teach you a great deal of information for a wide variety of workplaces.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured. Most of the training sessions have been helpful and helped me gain knowledge, however some have been the opposite and I have felt they got quite repetitive.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The support from our training provider has been great! The assessors have always been on hand to help out if we need them. their help with our coursework has been very useful, even though they might not get in touch the same day, I understand they have other apprentices to manage and they do get back to you asap. They have always been on hand with any personal issues in my life and are constantly checking in to see if we're okay.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer have been supportive, as a new company they had little knowledge of having an apprentice in the workplace, and I fully understand that. Although having an in house marketing team would help a lot more but that's something that might be coming in the future. My manager has always been on hand to support me if I need any help, even if there's no one else in the office on hand.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary was a good way to start out in the industry, however I have felt it difficult to afford basic things such as my lunch some days. having quite a lot of payments a month for example, money towards home, phone bills, a car, as well as social outings. the location has been very convenient with spending money, as I spend no money on travelling as I walk to work. When moving on in the future I would prefer a bigger increase on my salary to help my expenses.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I have quite a lot of opportunities outside of work, I have been to events the company has run, as well as events such as the Northern Blog Awards which I got to meet social influencers. as well as live tweeting from the pro Manchester conference on behalf of the juice academy

  • 9. Would you recommend The Juice Academy to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • Although I have recommended the juice academy previously to a friend. and the juice academy has been good to me. I do think it needs to be a bit more supportive to it's apprentices, as I have found they focused on other cohorts over my own. I did also find it quite hurtful when my cohort got confronted by some teachers from the academy about things that took place that day. although its been sorted now, I did find it quite patronising the way it was done and did make me question coming back to the academy. APART from that one time I would've recommended if that hadn't happened.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Juice Academy?
  • Interact with as many lessons as you can, you're experience will be more worth it!
