  • 4. How valued do you feel by CGI?
  • I feel very valued by CGI. The annual member satisfaction assessment programme is an excellent opportunity to feed back my opinions to the company which makes me feel valued. Also I am treated no differently to a full member of staff despite being on the apprenticeship degree programme. I am also given regular feedback on the work I complete which is reassuring.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I really enjoy work and university combination and believe it is well structured on the whole. I believe the university could improve in a number of areas, but can see this being done with new members of staff being brought in and changes to the structure of the programme being made.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Much support is given to us at work though the HR teams, IT support teams, training programmes resourcing manager, line manager and mentor. I find my one to one session with my line manager particularly useful and supportive to discuss my current work and progress and future career ambitions. Most colleague at CGI are also very supportive.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • For someone who rents and drives, the second year the salary is just about manageable but does not allow for much to be spent on non-essentials and savings. It could be better. In the first year it was much harder, however the first years this year have been given a salary increase and so I believe CGI have addressed this issue.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Sports and social club allows us to take part in social activities with colleagues outside of the workplace. The events put on are great! There is also much opportunity to get involved in charitable events and we are all encouraged to do so. There is also much opportunity to volunteer at career fairs and open days for the course.
