  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As Financial Planning Administrators, we are at the core of the team to assist the Paraplanners and Financial Planners. Our day to day role is always challenging as we are given a number of tasks which includes from monitoring the FP shared email inbox, post, meeting preparation, processing new business, calling external providers, processing investments and general administration. Our exposure to all parts of the business is also something we are privileged to experience through different talks/meeting which we can attend given we mange our workload day to day. We interact with all areas of wealth management on a daily basis which is great for networking. Individually we take on new projects within our team on different subjects within financial planning. We also have weekly/daily meeting with our supervisor. We have an extremely well structured training plan, which was designed by colleagues - this is followed and reviewed every day/week and helps our development enormously.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Working toward our specific FP exams, I have learned a whole new area of business through studying the text book, learning from colleagues and developing within the role itself. I have learned the UBS culture through practice and observation throughout the whole bank. Learning different behaviors within a job has given me massive confidence to challenge colleagues. Being strong team leader through playing professional football previously, I feel I have strived in this role already and developed my team/personal skills as well as learning new values.

  • Internally our training programme is extremely well structured. We have a training spreadsheet in place which we review every day and have weekly meetings with our trainers and line managers to catch up on what our strengths and weaknesses are.
