  • First year is mostly at college but then you get to see the work that goes on directly by following a mentor around.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned a wide range of new skills in various different forms. For example i have learned new engineering skills as well as my communication and social skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme however college can be a bit slow at times however this is necessary so it's best to approach it with an open mind and positive attitude.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Severn Trent?
  • I feel like I am an integral part of the company even though I am only an apprentice. This is one of the reasons I enjoy the job so much.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has a good structure and I am well aware of it however college can sometimes be disorganised.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive adequate support from my training provider and it is readily available when I need it.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer offers lots of support and is always there to listen and help me whenever I am unsure of what to do. If I have any issues, I know I can talk to them about it.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is very good, you can easily afford everything that a young person would need or want.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are lots of opportunities to volunteer and meet others outside of work and get involved in helping with incidents which may be on going.

  • 9. Would you recommend Severn Trent to a friend?
  • Yes

  • They make you feel very valued, pay you well and give very good chances to develop yourself as an individual.

  • Go for it, you won't regret it.
