  • 4. How valued do you feel by UBS?
  • I feel very valued by UBS. I have been given very important and valued responsibilities that my team and colleagues appreciate - which is nice. I feel that the work I do for my team and my manager are just as important as any other employees work - if not - more so.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Due to this type of apprenticeship being the first time UBS has run - I find that there is not too much structure. However this is not a bad thing. This gave me the flexibility to try new things and see what sort of work other teams in my area do - to see what best catches my interest. This also gave the opportunity to really enjoy what work was assigned to me - as it would be something new and exciting and there would always be someone there to help and mentor me.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The support from the training provider is exceptional. They really go out of their way to make sure this apprenticeship is working for the individual and that you are getting the experience and exposure needed to complete the apprenticeship. The general attitude is really positive and genuinely friendly which makes it easier for the apprentices to express any doubts or concerns. I really enjoy the meetings that I have with my training provider and I always find them to be very encouraging!

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The pay is very good for what the apprenticeship offers. It is definitely on the higher end of the scale. The location is especially convenient - as the building is right next to a train station which makes travelling very easy.

  • There are plenty of volunteering opportunities that are constantly being advertised - many of which are fun and help the community. The company themselves have a number of different societies which run their own events - some of which are informative and others which are social events. They have a good mix!

  • 9. Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because UBS offers plenty of great growth opportunities, have great support systems, the working environment and atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. The apprenticeship offers are one of the best out there.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • I would suggest practicing answering questions around your personal experiences and how they would help you in the working environment. Being able to convey who you are as an individual is very key - you have to be able to show them that you are different from the crowd and what you have to offer and that you are keen to learn and climb the ladder of challenges to come.
