  • I am a mechanical fitter apprentice who's responsibility is to carry out planned maintenance on mechanical devices on site

  • Lifting and rigging, safety valve testing, using MEWPs

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme and we are given additional task/experience which really add depth

  • I feel very valued part of GSK as we are seen as the future leaders of the site

  • The programme has a loose structure but is based on the experience we get, as time goes on the more we are able to do the more jobs we are responsible for

  • We get a visit from our instructors every three months until our third year where we visit them every month

  • Our employers are always encouraging us to take on more responsibility or asking us if there is anywhere we would like to get some experience to add to our capabilities in the company

  • My pay meets the costs of living adequately

  • There are team building events every year a charity day and a charity week

  • They are a globally recognised company that will give you a great apprenticeship that will set you in good stead for a rewarding career

  • Be honest the company is looking for the best of you when you apply, being yourself will show the best you can be and give you the best chances of getting a job
