Broker - Counter Terrorism Review

Within my role in Terrorism Insurance broking, we currently have two main facilities; Genesis (for UK businesses) and Alpha (for North America and Global businesses) which cover policyholders (the insured) from any risks concerning Threat, Maclious Act, Civil Commotion, and Political Violence. Extensions such as Cyber cover can be available to the insured should they require any additional lines of cover. Limits and Deductibles (Excess) on the cover are made on the basis of the clients wants and needs e.g they may want a full value limit or may a higher deductible as they are able to pay a sum of the insurance first hand.

I am currently studying towards my Certificate in Insurance which requires the successful completion of three exam modules 1F1, IF3 and IF4. I have passed IF1 and on the way to completing IF3 in the coming weeks.

I enjoy the everyday correspondence with important memebers of Insurance such as lead markets under our facility.

I feel highly valued from the company as everyone is seen as equal and work is disrupted fairly across the team.

My programme is structed well, with revision workshops organised for each module for the Cert CII as well as everyday tasks being supported throughout my team.

I recieve a lot of support from my training provider with regular meetings to ensure I am coping with my work. I also make sure I check my work with a memeber of my team before sending it out to important markets.

The support from Aon has been great. There has never been a time I have been unsure of what to do or who to talk to as there is always someone to ask questions or even ask over the phone or email correspondence.

The salary is good for me since I live fairly local to the office.

There are endless opportunities outside of work such as voluntary events, Insurace events, Under 35's events, client meetings and events which Aon put on for extra learning such as additional knowledge of classes of insurance.

Aon is a great company for development skils, starting in a broking firm from leaving schools has definately pushed my communicative skills with important people of various ages as well as putting into practice my knowledge of insurance.
