  • I have learnt a range of new skills relating to the insurance market and how it works. I have also developed my interpersonal skills and how to interact and socialise in a professional environment. • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that the actual qualification programme is very well structured however the when I initially entered my job role i felt like there wasn't much for me to do and I did really have a course of learning. I would just be handed the odd job and have it vaguely explained. This has improved now that I have more experience but initially I didnt feel very well guided.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a great deal of support from my team and colleagues, they are always there to help me with work and with any questions I may have. Aon also provides a great HR service that I could contact if I had any issues that I wanted to keep anonymous and away from my immediate colleagues.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary package is very competitive and certainly meets my costs as of now. However if I was wanting to move out of my home and find a place to live on my own, I think paying for rent and food would leave me little disposable income for luxuries and to pay into my pension.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are lots of events that I have been invited on with insurers and colleagues. These could be social or corporate events that allow networking and me to develop my knowledge. I have also been involved in running some careers sessions for high school students.

  • 9. Would you recommend Aon to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They are very employee focused and make sure that you feel included and part of the Aon brand. They offer extremely competetive benefits and salary which is really good for someone starting out in the world of work. They offer lots of opportunities and support to help you progress and develop into a stronger employee and give you the skills and support you need to become successful in the industry.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
  • Aon do not require you to have lots of industry knowledge when applying for the apprenticeship role. My tips would just be confident and professional. Prepare for your interview and assessment centres like you would prepare for an exam. Show that you interested and that you really have a desire to work. Act how you would like one of your employees to behave on an interview if you had your own business.
