Junior Developer Review

Junior Developer. Mainly specializing in java and SQL I am responsible for developing new parts of the solution as well as fixing defects on the existing code base

I have developed my Java skills from non-existent when I started the apprenticeship to a level where it is not a blocking factor when it comes to my role. As well as this, due to the project being run in a scrum methodology, I have gained valuable experience in a key skill that is looked for in the industry

The program as a whole has been amazing, with the ability to progress being available. my only complaint would be that the program does not seem to have been thought out in advance and instead there seems to be a lot of reactionary steps being taken to problems

Very, I feel that even with my junior level on the project my input is valued and appreciated and I am doing valuable work for the project.

The program was not well structured to start with and even now there seems to be a lack of information being passed down. However there have been no negative impacts from this thus far.

I have very rarely been in contact with any of the people responsible for the apprenticeship side of the program.

I receive as much support as I need in my day to day role.

My costs are met comfortably, although I do feel I am underpaid for the role I am doing.

I have been out socially with my colleagues on several occasions and have always had a good time, which has certainly helped the atmosphere in the office.

I think the company ethos is great and the people in the company are very friendly and happy to help if needed.

That although the apprenticeship is difficult, it is definitely the right kind of challenge.
