  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My work is independent allowing me to have a real sense of achievement whenever I finish a piece of work. A bonus to this is that I get on really well with every member of my team and the Vendor Management team allowing me to feel comfortable when asking questions on work, if needed. M&G as a company is large but still gives off the same feelings of a smaller company. My first day compared to where I am today, my experience has exceeded my expectations.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I was given a learning plan with every deadline allowing me to plan and organise myself. There was a bit of a mix up with my exams at the start but once I got onto the assignment portion of the qualification it was smooth sailing.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I had a monthly call with my assessor but knew I could email him if I ever had a problem. I was also given a email address by the provider to which I was guaranteed an answer with in the day.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have weekly 1:1's to discuss my workload and it gives me a chance to raise any issues. I also have a weekly meeting with the BAU side of my team to see if anyone needs assistance/to even out the workload. I also had a monthly 1:1 with my manger to specifically talk about my apprenticeship and how I was finding it.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I love to go away for the weekend to visit friends at uni or go on holiday which I wouldn't be able to afford if I was strictly a student. The salary we are given is at the higher end of the apprentice spectrum and is similar to my friends that work at other companies.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I organised 2 volunteering days, one for the ISM team and one for the VM team. Info graphics/presentations where put together and shared with IT Ops. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The Christmas and summer parties were a great way to mingle with people in the business that I email but would otherwise never meet. I also made a great group of friends that I often go out with after work.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to start your career and ease you into the world of work.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G?
  • Make sure your personality comes across. Grades and experiences are important but at the end of the day they are hiring a person not a CV.
