  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Day to day my work consists of Pilot plant trials where I assist with technical knowledge and skills to develop the next generation of Mondelez Chocolate products, I also undertake hand tempering demonstrations and product innovation sessions to key stakeholders, local government officials and members of the media. I am responsible for delivering a number of projects including chocolate making, and machinery validation. I’m also lucky enough to be involved with the recruitment and selection process for Technical Academy, which is where my career with Mondelez began.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My apprenticeship specifically targets on the Job learning. By working on trials in the Plot plant and facilities team I am exposed to a range of hand moulding, tempering, chocolate making, and technical knowledge. I am also completing college units for a Diploma In food proficiency and industrial skill, from this I have gained knowledge of company policies, products and technical rigor.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Without my Apprenticeship with Mondelez International, I wouldn't have been able to grow and develop as a person, I have shown commitment and true inspiration and passion for chocolate, and the future products I develop. I continue to build relationships in which helps to support my team. Mondelez is a great place to work as it accommodates a multicultural backgrounds. Mondelez as a company and as a apprenticeship as a whole has opened my eyes for the future.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Mondelez?
  • I feel extremely valued in a company as large as Mondelez. I have continued support and respect from all within the industry. I work within a team that's exposed to multiple projects for future development. My role has structure in which my mangers shows support. I have been nominated for a managers award through my dedication with a external project.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall my apprenticeship is extremely organised, there have been a few problems I've faced, being new to the work environment I struggled at the beginning. But through the support of my manager and mentors I have became the confident individual I am currently. I hold regular meetings with my college assessor to review my college work. I am on track to meet my objectives to finish my apprenticeship this year. My team is well organised with many functions, no matter the hierarchy I'm able to approach the individual.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I hold regular meetings (every Tuesday) with my college provider, in which I meet on a one to one basis to review the college work set from previous weeks.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • 'Enormous amount of support'. Mostly through my manager and my mentor which they have showed continued commitment through my development and learning. We hold regular progression and development meetings so I am able to showcase my skills.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Overall, for an apprentice I am happy with my salary package, this enables me to do the things I do outside of work. I was able to complete my driving lessons etc... I now own a car in which I travel to and from work. I am grateful for the opportunity in which I receive a salary.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Within my team I have opportunities available to me, we hold regular team bonding sessions and partake in leisure activities. I completed a volunteer day last year, and plan to this year, Mondelez is a great believer in helping the community. Mondelez offer a range of development courses both professional and personal.

  • 9. Would you recommend Mondelez to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • ' Mondelez is a great place to work' with colleagues from multiple cultural backgrounds. Also working with Chocolate everyday brings Joy to both me as a employee and as a consumer. I have built a true passion for chocolate, I enjoy the work I complete and the team I work within. Mondelez has great values and foundations to build a substantial career


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mondelez?
  • My first advice would be to consider apprenticeship schemes as they are so beneficial for your development. What not to like? 'your getting paid to learn', look around to see what companies are offering and ask questions about the scheme.
