Chocolate RDQI apprentice Review

chocolate RDQI apprentice and on a day to day basis I support product developers on trials, helping to produce samples using my hand tempering and practical skills. I am responsible for an area with the pilot plant facility we have at Bourneville. I have had the opportunity to work on many different projects and to demonstrate my skills in different demonstrations and events.

I have learnt many new skills including, how to temper and hand mould chocolate. As well as all the other practical skills that come with the job. Such as developing my people skills as well as presenting to larger groups of people, which before starting my apprenticeship I would not of felt comfortable doing.

I enjoy going into work everyday and interacting and being a member of my team. Mondelez as a company is a great place to work and I feel I can develop my skills greatly during my apprenticeship. The work I do on a day to day basis varies which is what keeps it so interesting and engaging.

I feel valued as part of the team I am in. I have received some excellent feedback since starting from various people including my manager and the product developers I have worked with. I feel very involved as part of a team and thoroughly enjoy being part of a working team and the positive atmosphere mondelez has a s a business.

My programme is very well structured and updates are very regular between Mondelez itself and my college (university college Birmingham). The training is received when I first started was very good and enabled me to learn more about the business. The support through college and the business itself is very good and there's always someone to talk to about questions I have. The mentoring system is very effective and I have learnt a lot with working with my mentor over the past 6 months. The hierarchy system at Mondelez is very much there, however everybody respects each other and is a very friendly place to work.

My college tutor is very organised and the lectures are very structured and easy to follow. There is a very good support network regarding college work and assignments not just within UCB but Mondelez too and I am always pointed in the right direction if im not sure who to ask or where to go for some information.

My manager is very good as supporting me in my day to day work and gives me good constructive feedback which I can act upon so I can therefore improve. My mentor is there when I need some guidance and am not sure where to go. Everybody is always very happy to help and that is always very greatly appreciated.

My salary covers all aspects that I need it to cover including travel and living costs.

there are many opportunities that I could peruse as part of my apprenticeship, including events such as the family day and social events. If I wasn't doing this apprenticeship today I would be continuing the bakery course at University College Birmingham and then would of most likely gone on to do a degree.

Mondelez is a very good company to start work into. The support networks are very good and they offer a great range of skills and knowledge.

The application process is relatively easy to become an apprentice and all I can say is that I would of liked to have been told how difficult it can be sometimes, e.g. how different the world of work is compared to school or college life.
