On a day to day basis I mostly work on cars, services or less complex jobs on my own but getting checked or I will work with a trained technician doing harder longer jobs helping out. I also do work shop maintenance like cleaning up and emptying bins.
Yes I have learnt a lot about cars like how they work, how to find problems and much more.
I enjoy my program a lot when I am working or at training but the some of people I work with make it hard to enjoy due to the way I am treated.
I don’t feel very valued at the moment but they are putting a lot of money and time into me so I feel I will be valued at the end of my corses by the manager but maybe not the other technicians.
My programme is very organised as my courses are always booked and my transport is always sorted out for me. Also my trainers are very good.
I get a lot of support from my provider as if there is a problem they always call up to sort it out for me and they always help me progress.
I don’t get a lot of support from my employer becuse at the moment I have no service manager due to him leaving but before he left I felt he was not helpful at all and just lied to me to keep my happy and also he was friends with other technicians who treated me in a way I think was completely wrong so he let them do it and did not sort out the situation
My salary is perfect for an apprenticeship.
There are a few as I can help people out with the skills I have gained so far and also when I get my qualifications I will be able to get a job quite easily.
No
I would as my dealership has been very hard to want to stay due to how I am treated but apart from the people it is a good job but the people make the job.
I would recommend they have a few induction days to see if they get on with the people in the garage and to be there self there to see if people like you.
