  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Private client tax advisor trainee. I mainly work with highly valued clients, helping them with their tax affairs and the occasional advisory work. I have my own client portfolio, which has over 70 clients on, which has given me immediate responsibility. Because of this, i have quickly learned to deal with clients ,myself and take responsibility for chasing tax return information. Day to day, i mainly chase clients and third parties, via email or phone. In addition, i prepared and post review returns, which i have learnt lots from.

  • I have undertaken many online learning courses, especially in anti-money laundering and compliance. I am working towards my ATT qualification, so attend college three times a month. In addition to the above, i have been buddies with a apprentice that is two years ahead of me. I have found this invaluable as they have been able to teach me the basics, and always there if i have a question! All of the staff and managers are happy to help you, they are never too busy!

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Travel costs are expensive as travelling from outside London, but this will be the case in most places. The location is excellent, with many different food and catering places around. There are also many bars close by, which makes for good work drink locations.
