  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my role I am part of the management accounting team. On a day to day basis, I complete many tasks. Every week I complete bank reconciliations, raise sales invoices, post purchase invoices, complete payment runs and much more. I complete a lot of simple bookkeeping, and sometimes complete some management account based work.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme that I am in is a very enjoyable programme. I am part of a very friendly team, and most of my colleagues are studying for qualifications as well so everyone is willing to help and knows what you are doing. The work is also enjoyable, and there is a lot of variance in the work that I complete so no day is ever the same.

I have received support from all areas of the firm, from other trainees helping with new tasks to managers helping with other queries.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary package is very competitive for the job role, and beats a lot of other firms outside of London. Costs of working up London are very high though, with food and travel taking a big chunk of the wages. However, it is enough to cover day to day costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are multiple social events throughout the year, and also many casual social events such as drinks after work. there are also many social activities and sports clubs that are available for anyone wanting to join outside of work. Overall the social side of work is very relaxed and you can enjoy yourself outside of work if you choose to.
