  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • To manage international deliverables across all formats and chase overdue materials, resources, episodes or music from any production company. Manage travel and accommodation for consultants and senior-managers. Look after their expenses and ensure expense claims are submitted on time as well make sure we invoice production teams on time. Help out the team with any administrative duties they need help with and to arrange and consultancy calls and liaise with appropriate parties.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to use specific online systems that manage a lot of the administrative work i.e. concur, sap vendor and have learnt to raise P.O. orders and the process that goes into it.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my work quite a bit, I do however feel quite overwhelmed a lot of the time as there is a lot on my plate and I feel that my team does not have the time to help me often. I am left to figure stuff out on my own a lot of the time and I believe there could be a better chain of communication between and my manager.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by WarnerMedia?
  • I feel valued to certain by people not in my team, others praise me for how much I do and how well I have become part of my team, but unfortunately, I do not feel a real sense of appreciation I feel it is them just saying thanks for this and thanks for that but not really acknowledging what I am doing. I do feel that I am still thought of as just simply the apprentice in the office even though it has been 9 months. I also think the fact everyone is so busy and focused on their own work that this can not be helped. I do feel my manager sometimes takes credit for work I have done but never really acknowledges me or even says thanks.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My training provider (Outsource) are not exactly the best in terms of being organised it took almost a month for me to be inducted onto my course and I spent a lot of time chasing their offices up as simple stuff like login credentials and course details were not given to us freely. I think the structure in my work environment is quite good and is well organised and i help keep it this way. One thing I think was poorly done was my job role was not really explained and a lot of the work I do was not something that is written on my job role, not that this is necessarily a bad thing but I think the work I do is not work you would ask a regular Apprentice to do which is why I do not really feel appreciated often.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider is very difficult to get information out of, it has gotten to the point where I just do not go to them for anything as when I have tried calling in the past one person tells me they can't deal with my request and pass me onto another person who says they are not the right person either and so forth and I can never get an answer.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive plenty of support from my employer we have a great number of staff and we have a dedicated HR team that handles my department and I always feel that I can go to them for anything.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I cannot really complain about my salary, just that I do not think my Apprentice rate fits my job role and what I currently do within my team.

    4/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are quite a lot of activities, events and volunteering opportunities offered through work which is great.

    10/10

  • 9. Would you recommend WarnerMedia to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Cause it is a great company, it is based worldwide and is such a well-known brand, the perks of working for such a massive name are incredible. Working here can really open doors for someone.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WarnerMedia?
  • Enjoy your time here, opportunities like these do not come often. I suggest be yourself in the interview and maybe geek out a little about the company and their brands, franchises and other projects. Once you get here ask questions about benefits and opportunities as there are a lot of people that do not really know everything the company offers us.
