for the first two years we are at college studying the foundation degree in engineering at the WCG college in Leamington. During the holidays we are put into the plant where we meet up with the managers and get to know the environment. After the 2nd year we will begin studying towards our bachelor's degree while on a block basis with the plant where we will be given projects to complete.
qualifications i will achieve: foundation degree, bachelor's degree, masters degree (optional) as part of the time at college we have to complete some competencies in the wokshop so i have learnt new skills which i can carry over into the real world of engineering.
So far it is going okay but havnt been here long enough to give an extensive answer.
Everytime i have been into the plant during the holidays my manager has never known of my apperance and never has anything for me to do. This could come down to a lack of communication from the college to the managers of JLR.
semi organised in terms of the foundation degree, the content is good but the way in which it is delivered is slack. not enough support, too long lessons etc.
if you want the support there is enough accessible for the students who require it.
As stated in the previous question my manager is never aware as to when i am coming in so i dont recieve much support as she never knows what to do for me
the salary gives me a sufficient amount to accomadate the spendings which include savings, rent and petrol
JLR offer a ELS which they give you £200 to invest into any opportunity you want to undertake so there is alot of chances to go out and do clubs etc.
Yes
Good job, good pay, good opportunities to learn.
