  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Substation craftsperson apprenticeship. Learning the trade of a craftsperson and being tough how to complete all task that would appear when my 3 year apprenticeship as completed. The other half of the apprenticeship is the training which is done at a training center.

  • One of the new skills that I have learnt whilst working for national grid is hand skills. this consisted of using the bench tool and various machines to complete tasks.

  • I enjoy the work that has been offered to me

  • The programme is run well and everything is done for you in the aspect you are told what course you are on and the location and when you are on site. this is done via a planner

  • the support is there from the start and extra support can be provided when needed.

  • Mentor answers any question that I need answering and find out the information for me. mangers sort out any problems that might occur with my training.

  • have no outgoings except my phone bill so it meets my living style extremely well.
