  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very good. I had an induction week on my first week which was well structured and I knew exactly what my plans were for that week. Within the company i feel like my programme is very well structured as I have recently received training of each department in the plant. However I feel like my coursework could be better structured as I am often unaware of when my deadlines are.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My trainer comes to EGGER every six weeks or so and she goes through with me what I need to complete and by when. Although I think this could be helpful, at the moment I am finding it hard to get into contact with my assesor. We do not speak frequently and I would prefer more frequent visits and potentially with the other apprentices who are completing the same programme as me as we would be able to communicate more and help eachother. However having all of my modules able to view on onefile is good as it lets me know what I will need to fill out throughout the programme.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer, the human resources team provide training courses each month which I can attend. Everyone in my office alway has a positive attitude when I have questions and do not understand something. The accessibility of support is good as I know who I would speak to if i was having a problem within the workplace.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I have to pay for my travel and living costs every week, however when i pay all of these bills every month i have a good amount of money left over. EGGER pays the national living wage which is a bonus. I live only 15 minutes away from EGGER so therefore this role is perfect for me.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Company sports events - active workplace games - a fun opportunity to get out of the office and take part in team events. The location of EGGER is good as Hexham has a large leisure centre with swimming pool. The company also has EGGERUNS in place which is where EGGER employees can take part in runs which are sponsored by EGGER for every km ran. When i wasnt working at EGGER I had a part time job and also attend gym classes every week. The company also has a Christmas Party every year.
