  • My job title is Client Service Advisor and I work within the global department of Aon Risk Solutions. I work with Client Managers/Directors to ensure that clients receive a high level of service and that their insurance demands and needs are satisfied.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have achieved my Cert Cii which involved sitting two exams and carrying out a practical competence continous assessment. We received excellent training for the examinations from an outsourced company - Skills Solutions who also carried out the competence assessment. Beyond the qualifications/exams I have picked up a great deal of skills/knowledge on-the-job. The Aon Apprenticeship has helped me grow and develop as a professional and as an individual, helping my interpersonal/organisational skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed the apprenticeship programme. It has been a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and build strong relationships from the outset. The organisers of the programme have been very helpful and the training has been excellent. I felt truly welcomed from my first day and a two week residential induction course prior to starting was a massive help. This gave us the opportunity to build a professional network at a very early stage, and to build great friendships.

  • The programme has been very well structured. We began with a two week residential induction which was great to bring us into the ethos of the business and also included a great introduction to insurance. The studying programme has been fantastic and timed well for exams.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary package does not meet my costs fully due to expensive train season ticket and London generally being expensive. However I have the benefit of still being able to live at home with my parents.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I feel I have had fantastic opportunities outside of work. Earlier this year I was able to go to No 10 Downing street to represent Aon at an event for Apprentices across the country. I have also had numerous activities arising from work, including boat trips, sailing trips and various other events.
