Since I am working as a software engineer, my day-to-day work would be developing software which corresponds to tickets on a jira board.
Yes, I have gained knowledge in project management as well as developing on my overall when it comes to programming.
I enjoy the programme very much.
I feel valued, I don't feel like an apprentice at all.
Structured very well. There has been a few hiccups from the university side of things. This is due to a problem when it comes to how to display the apprentices portfolios.
The support from university is good. They are very helpful when I'm there, as well as over email. The subjects in which we are learning could be talked about more clearly though.
There is plenty of support from both managers and my peers. I have a monthly one to one with my mentor to make sure I'm getting on within the team. There is also line manager meetings where I meet where I discuss how I'm coping as a whole, this is with both university and work.
My salary meets my costs for my monthly living, this is when it comes to the cost of a monthly train ticket as well as my rent.
There are always after apprentices to go to event whether it is to talk about the apprenticeship itself, or to show what the BBC does as a whole. It is also a good opportunity to meet people based at other locations within the BBC.
Yes
Its a great environment to work in, and everyone is friendly and willing to help one another.
Don't worry to much when it comes to the application and the interview. Just be yourself.
