  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On my shifts I would be duty manager, I would give team players their job role for that shift what I think they were most suited to. At the start of the day I would count the safe and do start of day on the Aztec system, Also at the end of the day I would count the tills and do end of day on Aztec and if necessary do the banking. On the Monday the beer delivery would come I would stock rotate and put this away. Through the week I would also upload information from games take onto Aztec of how much money we took from that week from the bandits. If there was any jobs needed logged on pulse I would also do that. On a Wednesday I would do the beer order which would arrive the following Monday.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot from my course as I didn't know the Aztec system and only had very basic computer skills. Everything I knew about leading the perfect shift I have improved on .

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I loved it, everything about it. It was flexible to work around my busy work schedule. Help was always on hand. I could meet up for help anytime if I needed it. I enjoyed putting what I learned into action and was great to see how everything it was learning was working and I was shown such appreciation for my hard and good work.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Greene King?
  • This is the only part I'm not happy with. Greeneking as s company don't look after their Staff, at least not at the Woodmans Arms! We always had to work understaffed really understaffed and overworked. Greenking did not look after any of us as a team. They sold the business and didn't tell us until six days before closing then didn't even tell us if we would have s job with new owners or even who they were.

  • 9. Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • As I have already said they treated us fairly disgusting. They didn't give us any information or help when they should of told us what was going on. We had a right to know they had sold but they only gave us six days notice and wouldn't tell us even after asking them, who the buyer was and if they wanted to keep any of us on.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • No to work for them.
