  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In the morning we generally took part in seminars by members of the Pinsent Masons team, for example informing us on routes into law careers. We then joined diverse practice groups, mine were commercial, projects and property, giving us an experience of different areas of the legal sector. This also meant integrating with different teams which helped me to gain an insight into the culture of the firm.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learnt a great deal about the process of becoming a lawyer as well as the diverse range of areas covered in a firm as large as Pinsent Masons. I've also learnt more about using attention to detail and the daily work of a trainee solicitor. Also, using legal terminology and software was a valuable experience, especially for those wanting a future career in law.

  • Very well structured, each day was planned from start to finish with rotating practice groups to allow us to experience more areas of the business. A Rota was provided for us at the beginning of the week so we knew what our schedule was on each day of the programme.
