Change analyst Review

My role involves supporting a change function for RBS helping to deliver the project. I have interactions with suppliers both interally and externally and a number of stakeholders.

My communications skills have been greatly developed, in particular those used in a business environment. I have also had a large amount of training from our training company BPP on a wide variety of topics.

I do enjoy my work, although it is perhaps not in the area of the bank I would prefer it to be. My colleagues are very friendly and very supportive and it has gone beyond what I expected of it so far.

Internal recognition within my team is very good, a lot takes places and I am not left out. I am often given the opportunity to work on new things and postive feedback is always given. Whether I am valued by the group as a whole I am unsure, it is a massive organisation so getting your name about, or knowing if it is about, is very difficult to do / know.

The training is provided externally from RBS and although well structured it is perhaps not led in the most coherent way

We recieve a lot of support if we ask for it.

My line manager is always checking up to see how I am doing and I have a weekly meeting with my assignment manager.

For the most part it is fine, and comparable with similar jobs. It would of course always be nicer to have a little more disposable income.

There are extra events that take place, and volunteering is strongly encouraged by the company with opportunities provided if you cannot find any.

It is a rewarding job with a great future potential after finishing the apprenticeship. It provides a challenge and really helps to develop your skills and teach you new ones.

Show an interest and a knowledge in the bank, and read a little about it before you have an interview if you get to that stage. The joining process can be a little slow depending on the area of the bank you work in but be patient and it will be worth it.
