During the completion of work experience, I was under the job role of a Sales Assistant. On a daily basis, my main responsibilities were to label, replenish and display stock on the shop floor. Merchandising was another key responsibility, as well as keeping the store organised and tidy. Internally, interaction with staff was receiving tasks, as well as having friendly interactions also. External communications were with customers, either offering advice or helping them find products in the store.
In this work experience role, it gave me insight and experience with working in retail. I was able to build my communication, time management and merchandising skills.
I enjoyed my role in CeX as all of the staff were friendly, supportive and welcoming. The company seemed to value their employees greatly and I enjoyed both the tasks I was assigned and the team I worked with.
I felt incredibly valued by CeX in the time I spent there, due to recognition and appreciation offered from the manager when I did well in tasks. support was also offered throughout which raised my feeling of value during the experience.
The programme was moderately structured, with some room for improvement due to tasks being very basic/repetitive with little variation.
I received great support from the staff at CeX as the first day was spent working alongside the team leader. Support and advice was easy to receive as all members of staff persistantly asked how I was doing and if I needed any clarification or help. This was an excellent experience as it helped guide me I the right direction, and made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable.
I received a lot of support from the manager as I was able to work alongside them for a day, as well as also working alongside the team leader in store. Both members of staff seemed happy to support me and were readily available if I needed anything.
As this was completed as work experience, the work was unpaid.
As this was completed as work experience, I was not made aware of any opportunities offered outside of the working environment.
Yes
I would recommend CeX to a friend as the staff were warm and welcoming, the environment was enjoyable to work in and I was able to build on personal skills and attributes during the week spent there.
As I am not employed by Cex, I would not have any advice regarding application process.
