Customer Assistant Review

I sorted shelving and restocking shelves. As well as cleaning. I had an hour break at lunch. I also helped customers with any issues they had although this was difficult at the beginning as i did not know he layout of the store very well so often had to call over my supervisor.

I gained more confidence in myself as i had to interact with people even if i didnt know what they were asking for because i was new and did not know the layout well. Apart from this i didnt really learn very much as my previous jobs also taught me health and saftey and such.

It wasnt a very exciting job as it was basically being a cleaner but it did teach me lots of basic skills. I enjoyed certain parts of the jobs like customer interaction and stocking shelves as it was either hectic or time consuming so it kept me busy.I didnt enjoy the cleaning but in every job theres something you dont like.

Not at all. I wasnt asked any follow up questions or anything but that may have been because i was only there for a week. It would have been nice to have some feedback on my job so that i could improve it in my next workplace but i can understand that they must have had better things to do.

There was a clear structure of what i would do in the mornings and after lunch it would change. Often i would go in the mornings and drop my stuff off in the office. Afterwards i would enter the shopfloor and immediatly start sorting the stock on the shelves, restocking if need be. I would sort the front of house out and the display if they needed neatening up. After my lunch break it would normally be cleaning the sides and sweeping the floors to ensure the shop was tidy. Overall it was well structured and i never had to ask to be prompted.

If i had any issues i could always ask my suoervisor. I would often have to call them over if a customer had asked for somethimg as i didnt know where it was unless i had restocked it. Nearer the end of my week I had learnt where everything was. I feel if i had been given a walk around on day one i could have picked ot up in a day.

As i am not with them anymore not any. When i was working with them alot. I was finding it difficult to find a placement and when i found this one they were extremely helpful in telling me what to do and how to do it which made me more at ease with the company.

It was an unpaid work experience. So i wasnt paid for the work i did which i found unfortunate. I had jobs before this internship and was surprised when they didnt pay me even for the measly week i worked. I had to catch the bus for about £3.00 a day and had to bring lunch so was down by about £7 a day.

I do not know. As i was only there for a week I do not know about opportunities outside of work. I know that there is room to further you career with them and to move up in the company which i found apealing. And i am certain they do courses outside of work which can help to further your career.

I would recommend superdrug to a friend because it teaches alot about health and saftey as well as organisational skills. There is always something to do on a shop floor so never becomes boring. There are opportunities to further your career which appeals to alot of the population. Overall I would recommend this job because the company support you throughout the process.

Dont be afraid to ask them in the store. Walk in with your CV and ask them about jobs there. Often they will refer you to their website, but it doesnt hurt to ask and they might even say yes and tell you how to apply. Have confidence and try and stand out a little, have extracurriculars and hobbkes which show off skills like organisation and time keeping and team working, it all helps.
