  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Retention’s advisor - Assisting customers in selecting the correct products and services relevant to themselves whilst attempting to save money (if possible)

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to remain professional and clear headed during conversation. I have also learnt how to lead by example and provide the best customer service possible even when giving bad news.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Overall whilst working for Sky I found this to be an enjoyable experience with my team however I would not recommend going into this role if you are not prepared to receive bad comments about the company or your ability as this will always be in question by the customer.

  • A lot :)

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The package is okay as a starter job however I would like to see an increase in starting wages due to how intense the work is.

    3/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There were a limited amount of opportunities to get involved with outside the building.

    4/10

  • 9. Would you recommend Sky to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • Unfortunately it wasn’t the staff for me. It was the fact that this line of work is not something I would personally put myself through again. Retention’s deals with so much more than trying to save money. You are billing, tech support, sales - pretty much every role in the business is what retention’s deals with.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sky?
  • I would ensure you prepare yourself for customers. They are important however not everyone of them will be truly honest with you and it is up to you to investigate the true issues they have with Sky. This is a hard job however if you are prepared you can be the best.
