1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

10/10

I was partnered with a team leader whilst on work experience for a large Asda supermarket.

My roles included helping and assisting the team leader with administrative tasks that needed to be done. I was also taught how to stock check, pick items and price up reduced items.

The whole experience lasted a month and in this time I learnt a great deal of skills especially in regards to customer service helping and greeting members of the public.

I also improved my numeracy skills whilst producing and helping edit the stores online database and POS system.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

9/10

I improved and developed my customer service skills whilst meeting and greeting new people on the shop floor.

I also developed my computer and numeracy skills in helping to manage and produce spreadsheets and edit the stores stock database.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

10/10

I really enjoyed the programme and it allowed me to put a valuable asset on my CV and also gave me a credited reference that I could refer to when looking for future employment.

Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would deffinetly recommend other people to do something similar to help gain and improve skills.

4. How valued do you feel by ASDA?

10/10

I felt very valued from the first day I was introduced to the team I would be assisting and working with.

There's a very close feel when working with Asda all the staff are very friendly and look out and help everyone. It almost has a family feel when working there everyone is helpful and really good to get along with.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

10/10

The dovranno was very well organised and structured there was a clear layout of what skills I would be working on when I started and a set of tasks that I would be focusing on.

I was introduced and partnered with a "buddy" that was my main mentor that help to guide and lead me through the day to day practises.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

10/10

The evel of support was outstanding the tasks were explained clearly to me and then they were fully demonstrated and I was trained how to do jobs that needed specific training.

If I ever had any questions or issues I was able to talk to my mentor and they would provide with assistance straight away.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

10/10

I received a huge amount of support by the employer. I was given benefits whilst working there which was good and I was given constant feedback from the store managers of praise.

The overall expedite was fantastic and I highly recommend it.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

10/10

I was given transportation and lunch cost for the placement but the time I was with them it was an unpaid training scheme and I was almost volountering my time in exchange for valuable skills and the ability to gain experience that I could later refer to on my CV

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

10/10

I am currently employed full time by another employer and have a good job. It's not related to my placement o completed at Asda but the skills i learnt were definetly valuable and helped improve the overall skills aspect and references on my CV

So therefore this has decently helped me outside of the opportunity.

9. Would you recommend ASDA to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

I would defiantly recommend doing a placement training scheme with Asda as I learnt a great deal of valuable skills and it was a good experience meeting new people and gaining new friends.

The atmosphere there is fantastic and I was instantly welcomed into the team and made to feel wanted.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ASDA?

Just contact your local Asda and book an appointment with the manager. Ask them for any details as not all stores may have the same opportunities.

Alternatively you could email them by finding the details of the Asda website.
