1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as part of my work experience in the Nissan Team was fantastic. On a day to day basis I was constantly being a part of the actual workforce and given relevant tasks to engage and be a part of the learning experience . Tasks included working with the manufacturing of cars and going the the process of recording and registering cars; from the initial producing to the time of sale. Projects included working alongside administrators and labour workers often taking a central role in helping them such as through checking over papers or recognising defect cars. Overall I would give the Nissan Team 9/10 as not only was I given a central role in work but I was also taught and given an insight to the tasks and responsibilities of a worker.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Whilst working with the Nissan Team, I learnt several skills and practices such as the different responsibilities and roles of a variety of workers. For example I took several learning points from the defect activity that was arranged which gave me an opportunity to have an insight into the conduct and practice of work; how to report, how to speak to one another etc. Likewise the administrative role I was given showed me the practice of taking the initiative as well as how to communicate with colleges

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed my programme and would love to experience it again. The working atmosphere as well as the thought and effort gone into activities was outstanding. My leader was very polite and considerate of health and safety and was very professional. The programme as a whole was quite varied and engaging.

4. How valued do you feel by Nissan Design?

When working with the Nissan Team, I felt very valued and was treated as a part of the workforce through the fact not only was I given a central engaging role within the workplace but my health, safety and well-being was a constant #1 priority. The workers alongside my manager recognised and appreciated my efforts and input as well as contributions to the workplace

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would undoubtedly say that the Nissan Team are very thorough and organised with their work experience members as not only was there a day to day timetable for work and task but also the fact activities felt engaging and well thought of.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

Nissan gave me several opportunities and chances of support and advice. This was as evident in the fact I was assigned a personal leader who gave guidance and support in my activities and roles. His role as a leader felt much like a friend and advisor rather than a teacher which was particularly great as he wasn't too bossy or interfering instead giving me the freedom to enjoy and learn about Nissan

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I as previously mentioned received several instances of support and help at the Nissan Team. This was due to the fact I was given a personal mentor who helped with advice and guidance on the workplace conventions and health and safety issues. Furthermore even after my work experience I was offered another chance to learn and be a part of the workforce in the future. Even fellow workers expressed support and kind words to me during my time there, encouraging me to think about a career at Nissan through their personal experiences and thoughts.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

As my programme was a work experience no salary was given and since it was local living, travel and any other costs were not present. However for what was given such a personal insight and knowledge of the workplace was priceless and truly gave further encouragement and motivation to join the Nissan Team and be part of the workforce

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

Outside of my work experience there was little opportunities since after all it was a work experience, however the manager did approach me after my week of work experience to notify me of his interest to make me apart of his workforce in the future do to my attitude to learning.

9. Would you recommend Nissan Design to a friend?

9b. Why?

The Nissan Team as a whole was very satisfactory and organised as a work experience. Through various engaging and central activities as well as roles, the whole week was very insightful into the workplace; it's conventions, know-how and conduct. The whole experience was encouraging and motivational to be an employee and to be a part of the working world

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nissan Design?

If anyone is interested in being a part of the Nissan Team as a part of their work experience I would recommend for them to be very passionate of Nissan and their manufacturing, recording and selling of cars and other services. They should also be ready for a focused and engaging week of work, insight and knowledge
