I had different roles each day,the roles included unloading and loading steel drums from the lorry, cleaning out, washing, scraping and scrubbing the steel drums, banging out any dents in the steel drums, spray painting the steel drums, and once they were dry stacking them up in storage and assembling the wheelbarrows. I interacted with many of the workers there but mainly Scott, who despite not being asked took me under his wing and acted as my mentor teaching me the ropes and really helping me settle in and feel like part of the team.
Yes I have learnt discipline because I had to be there at 7am every morning to do my jobs so that the rest of the team could also do their jobs because if I hadn't the manufacturing process would have taken longer. I have also learnt to be more confident.
I enjoyed my programme very much.
I felt very valued by the company, they made me feel very much part of the team. The manager gave me praise and told me he really appreciated my work and was even willing to offer me a job in the future. He also appreciated my work that much that he took me for lunch and bought me a meal. He also gave praise about me to my school.
My programme was very well organised and structured.
I received lots of support from my training provider, namely This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions. If I had an issue with any of my tasks I could ask anyone one from the team and they made me feel comfortable doing so. All the team took time in showing in detail how to do all my tasks.
I received lots of support from my employer.
It meets my costs very well.
Yes there are many opportunities.
Yes
They all treated me as a valuable part of the team.
I would recommend being confident and call the company and apply for a meeting in person and be very confident and interested when you go.
