  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Day to day involves speaking to a variety of customers on the phone and helping them to resolves issues they may be having. This can be interesting as you get to see how all the different customers work and also get to know a vast amount of different I.T systems and processes. This can be anything from advising someone to re-boot a machine to more complicated fixes which are more challenging. However you learn a lot from both kinds of calls.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned a vast amount skills since being here, I've learned how to work under pressure, how to multi-task, how to be self sufficient and organized. Because the environment is so fast paced and you basically learn something new everyday you are constantly being challenged and developing skills without even real sing your doing so.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My time at my training provider was well organised and structured, everything was timed well and nothing was rush which was good. However whilst in PCMS as it is such a fast paced environment sometimes it is easy for things to be missed or for focus to be elsewhere and on occasion things can be last minute when i feel like things could have been more pre-prepared.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • If i ever need to contact my training provider about anything i am free to do so at any point. I have had meetings with my training provider and line manager here so we have all had chance to give feedback, which does make me feel supported as i have more than one avenue to go down if i need to ask for some information or if i ever have any issues.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is good to begin with and there is opportunity to earn more with shift opportunities (weekends/nightshifts etc..) however i think it could be improved based on comparisons between apprentices with other members of full time staff.
