  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a manufacturing apprentice, My job can vary day to day therefore no day is the same. There are several things that could go wrong in the drug process meaning we can either be super busy or sometimes waiting for work.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have now earned myself a qualification in Manufacturing Engineering. However the most important skills I have learnt have been within the workplace understanding and working with an aseptic enviroment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love verything about my work not just the people within it but also the good nature of the company knowing I am helping someone in the future is a real buzz for me.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by AstraZeneca?
  • I feel highly valued by all memebers within AstraZeneca wether it be you manager or a fellow team member they are highly supportive to help you achieve both now and in the future.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship programme within AstraZeneca is a big deal to the company therefore it is highly backed by all the workforce. Meaning that you are checked appon at least once a month to dicuss how you apprenticeship is going and wether you are on target.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The college helped me tremendously when I was falling behind in my work by pushing me and helping me at every moment they had this really helped me to succeed within my training.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I recieved from my employer is amazing i could not of asked for any more support they were so good at helping and training me to be the best I can be within my role.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • As I still live at home I have very little outgoings therefore all the money I make is for myself. With the money I have made so far I have been able to buy myself a new car and several holidays.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • AstraZeneca highly promote volunteering so on several occasions I have volunteered for AstraZeneca at several different charities. I have also had the opportunity to colllaborate with other companies by doing this I am increasing my knowledge of the working sector.

  • 9. Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is 100% the best decision I have ever made I have learnt so many new skills that I can use not just within AstraZeneca but within life. The training I have received is life changing.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
  • If you get an interview just be yourself! Be friendly and helpful of others.
