On a daily basis I'm expected to carry out various tasks related to the field of finance such as cross checking figures in order to ensure they are correct and review mappings. My job title is junior assistant and I work in a team of 5 people who i communicate with daily. I have worked on many projects but I have been on the current one for the past 9 months.
I have developed various skills including attention to detail and professional communication skills. I am also getting an AAT level 4 qualification alongside working. There are not as many training on internal audit available however I feel like most of it is learnt on the job.
i enjoy the work that I do although sometimes it may feel repetitive. However, my team is fun so it is always a pleasure to come into work. I expected it to be a lot more formal and corporate and was pleased to find out that my team members are very friendly.
I believe that the work that I do adds value to my project as well as the wider firm and the new techniques I've come up with can be my legacy at BBC.My manager always ensures that i feel valued and respected by the wider team and himself.
in terms of the structure of the programme I am not sure upon what i will be able to do once i finish it and whether I'll have the right support to find myself a relevant position. Although we had an induction and we have mentors assigned I don't think there is enough clarity in hierarchical structure.
If I have any issues i liaise those directly with my tutor if it's related to the modules we study and if it related to the wider generic programme structure I can always contact the ambassador. i also find it that the training providers are always were keen to help and have a positive attitude to helping me resolve any issues
I feel like my team is not involved my studies and i would never even consider coming with my issues to them when it relates to studies. For that I tend to contact my mentor who is very approachable and easily accessible. i have never contacted the HR team.
I feel like my salary is not adequate when looking at the costs of living. Also the pressure of being surrounded by senior people who are getting paid 5 times as much can be very intimidating. Since it's one firm salaries should not differ so drastically. I also struggle because i can't afford to live as close to the office and that means my travel costs go up
i have been involved in many opportunities outside of work such as volunteering with my team on a weekend and we also often go to networking drinks as my mentor always encourages me to attend those. We do weekend activities such as a holiday about once a year with my team.

When you do the interview try to act confident and mature. make sure you google typical interview questions as none of the questions that would come up should seem unfamiliar to you. In terms of submitting your CV you must ensure you don't have any spelling mistakes!
