  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm a Marketing Assistant, and my job entails a lot of answering requests such as creating PO numbers, and organising data for the team. I do a lot of work with many people from our global team at TiGi too,

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I currently working towards a level 3 in Business Admin, as well as learnt how to use new programs such as Oracle for a work environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my program and the work I do. My team is very friendly, and have helped to teach me how to do a huge amount of different tasks. The company culture is also so relaxed and friendly, which makes the workplace so much better to work in as well.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Unilever?
  • I feel very valued, as I have noticed all of my hard work has been paying off , since I have heard from a variety of people who have complimented me on my work, and made me feel like a valuable member of the team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • So far, the program has been well structured, and very clear on what I need to complete, and when I need to complete different tasks by to be successful. I have meetings with mentors often to check on progress, and the hierarchy within the team is minimal, which makes it such a comforting place to work.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive tonnes of support from them, with weekly catch ups, a number always available to call if I need help, and they have helped prepare and settle me into my role without any issues.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From my manager, I get plenty of support too. Every week we will have 1 or 2 catch ups depending on how busy it has been, to ensure I am able to cope with the work load, and know when to prioritise what. Further, they also help to accommodate me when the trains aren't working properly, and are a friendly person I can talk to if I feel the need.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary is amazing for an apprenticeship, and although I can't yet move out on it, but I have so much spare for any personal needs after all expenses during the month (trains, food and DD).

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • As I am not based within the core unilever site, I don't get as many opportunities as most, although I do have a good amount of options for events, but it isn't the best.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Most friendly company I have ever worked for, and people really do care about one another here.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • Just be yourself, and give it your all. It isn't easy at all, and you will have to work hard to get and keep your place, but it is such a rewarding experience, and is worth it even if you don't make the job.
