I had the opportunity to shadow doctors in various different departments in the hospital. I also talked to the patients to see what they were going through and how the health care professionals were helping them.
It really helped me to communicate in a more professional and articulate manner with people
It was amazing and it was the final work experience that lead me to do medicine
A lot because they were very encouraging to my learning and gave a lot of helpful tips to help with my application
It was quite good as I had the opportunity to spend a day in different wards looking to help people with different degrees of illness and from different points in their lives.
I got lots of advice from the junior doctors while I was there as it really helped me to understand some of the protocols in the hospital
I did not have much contact with them. I got permission to do the work experience and got introduced to the teams.
no salary but it was mainly for my experience and benefit
I was only there for a week so it was not relevant
Yes
It is an amazing organisation to be part of and all the people that i met were really supportive and encouraging. I really enjoyed the way that medicine is a practical application of science to help people.
Just contact the local hospital to have a closer look at their application process. I emailed mine and they sent me an aplication form that I completed and I got it.
