  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Insight day for potential school leaver / apprentices in the EY Canary wharf office, London. Gave a wonderful overview of the different roles available within the company, and an enjoyable talk from a former winner of the tv show 'The Apprentice' about developing our personal brand

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I've learnt how to develop my personal brand and how to conduct myself at networking events. The talk on how to deliver an elevator speech was very helpful.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I met many other people of my age who were all very friendly. Ice breaker programs at the start of the day really helped to break down barriers between each other.

  • I felt very valued, especially due to the excellent food and friendly employees who were very welcoming. Furthermore, the experience was interactive and definitely took into account what we wanted to get from it, asking us questions that we wanted to be answered by the end of the day and also reviewing them later on.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme couldn't have been more structured. We were emailed a plan outlining the day's activities well in advance and the staff were incredibly organised in registering us and providing badges etc. in the morning.

  • I felt very valued, especially due to the excellent food and friendly employees who were very welcoming. Furthermore, the experience was interactive and definitely took into account what we wanted to get from it, asking us questions that we wanted to be answered by the end of the day and also reviewing them later on.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Unfortunately, this was an unpaid scheme however I found that nonetheless they did reimburse me for my travel costs and they also provided free food and drinks etc. whilst I was at the office. The experience that I gained was invaluable, so I definitely feel the no pay was accounted for.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The office had a great atmosphere, with everyone seeming to be helpful and easy to get along with. There also seems to be great opportunities within the company, with offices in many countries round the globe and diversity in your job role being easy to obtain.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Make sure that you are being truthful in your application form and that a genuine representation of your personality shines through. Try to do some background research on the company to give you a better idea of things to talk about if you're asked about why you're interested in EY in particular and what sets it apart for you from other companies.
