  • signalling apprentice, learning the dos and donts of health and safety and getting to grips with the basics of electrics.

  • yes I have learnt domestic and advanced wiring and testing, also I have learnt a good amount of knowledge about my role

  • I really enjoy the social side of things and the inclusion of sports and events is very good, the food is also amazing.

  • very valued, being sports rep makes me feel important and the facilities are very good. I also get good impressions from the staff.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • its slightly muddled up, with some aspects being taught before you know the theory behind it. overall very good.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • teachers are very good at there roles and disciplines but the teaching is not very good, a level of knowledge is expected from certain teachers.

  • very good support, different benefits and there are many people to talk to. lots of different departments there to help.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • wage is a bit low with some people who have responsibilities at home but with food and leisure being free it is better than if you had to pay for those services.

  • there is sporting events and chances to do charity work and charity events.

  • Yes

  • great company with amazing benefits, also the job is a job for life with great opportunities.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Network Rail?
  • be prepared for a lot of work and make sure you don't fall behind. enjoy yourself but be sensible.
