  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Having joined the programme as soon as I left school, I have found something that I love whilst I get valuable new skills everyday. My general communication skills have improved massively, having dealing with different types of enquires everyday, my self confidence has boomed! I was so shy when it came to people or giving my opinion, now I'm the first to say what's needed or don't thing twice about talking to my following staff members.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I didn't really know what to expect, being my first job. Once I settled in and progressed through my first year, working along with other managers and meeting all types of managers in the company it made me boost my confidence and made me want to progress further.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aldi?
  • I feel very valued at Aldi. As an Apprentice Manager I get the opportunity to do all the roles that other managers do and I am treated as a manager from other store assistants, as well as my store managers. Being so young when I started I thought I wouldn't be able to do management duties, i was wrong. My apprenticeship has taught me so much and doing the experience in a store makes you want to finish your apprenticeship at the top level.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My training from my store managers is amazing, they make me to that extra mile to make sure i understand my duties and I always learn new things everyday. My support from college us outstanding as well, I know where I am having performance reviews every few months so I know what I need to improve on.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My tutor gives me all the help I need. Setting me tasks so I can go home and revise for my next tests. Any problems I have I know I can tell her and I know she is capable of feeling with it. I get a visit around every 2-4 weeks going through what I have learned and going through what I need to know whilst giving me some training as well.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Aldi gives me so much support. Having performance reviews with my managers so I know what I have done that's good and what I need to improve on. Also what is expected of me in the future. If I have any problems within my apprenticeship I can also talk to my manager. The support towards me is excellent, if there's anything I'm unsure on I know if I ask I will get taught it.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Being at school I had no reel value of money before I joined Aldi. My salary is amazing for my age and it rises every year. I am able to enjoy my life outside of work as well. As soon as I was 17 I was able to get a car out of my own expense and pay for my insurance with that of what I saved working for Aldi.

  • 9b. Why?
  • All of my friends left school and went to college. As did I, but as well as learning and gaining valuable experience I get an amazing salary to come with the package. Getting respected within the workplace is great never mind what age you are, and working towards an amazing goal at the end of it is super.
