  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as part of my work experience in the Mitsubishi was fantastic. On a day to day basis I was constantly being a part of the actual workforce and given relevant tasks to engage and be a part of the learning experience . Tasks included working with the manufacturing of Motorcycles and going the the process of recording and registering motorcycles and cars alike; from the initial producing to the time of sale. Projects included working alongside administrators and labour workers often taking a central role in helping them such as through checking over papers or recognising defect products. Overall I would give Mitsubishi a 9/10 as not only was I given a central role in work but I was also taught and given an insight to the tasks and responsibilities of a worker.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Whilst working with the Mistibushi, I learnt several skills and practices such as the different responsibilities and roles of a variety of workers. For example I took several learning points from the defect activity that was arranged which gave me an opportunity to have an insight into the conduct and practice of work; how to report, how to speak to one another etc. Likewise the administrative role I was given showed me the practice of taking the initiative as well as how to communicate with colleges

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Mitsubishi gave me several opportunities and chances of support and advice. This was as evident in the fact I was assigned a personal leader who gave guidance and support in my activities and roles. His role as a leader felt much like a friend and advisor rather than a teacher which was particularly great as he wasn't too bossy or interfering instead giving me the freedom to enjoy and learn about cars and motorcycles alike

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I as previously mentioned received several instances of support and help at the Mitsubishi group. This was due to the fact I was given a personal mentor who helped with advice and guidance on the workplace conventions and health and safety issues. Furthermore even after my work experience I was offered another chance to learn and be a part of the workforce in the future. Even fellow workers expressed support and kind words to me during my time there, encouraging me to think about a career at Mitsubishi through their personal experiences and thoughts.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • As my programme was a work experience no salary was given and since it was local living, travel and any other costs were not present. However for what was given such a personal insight and knowledge of the workplace was priceless and truly gave further encouragement and motivation to join the Mitsubishi group and be part of the workforce

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The Mitsubishi group as a whole was very satisfactory and organised as a work experience. Through various engaging and central activities as well as roles, the whole week was very insightful into the workplace; it's conventions, know-how and conduct. The whole experience was encouraging and motivational to be an employee and to be a part of the working world

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitsubishi Motors?
  • If anyone is interested in being a part of the Mitsubishi group as a part of their work experience I would recommend for them to be very passionate of Mitsubishi and their manufacturing, recording and selling of cars and other services. They should also be ready for a focused and engaging week of work, insight and knowledge
