1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis I am a brand guardian for the channel I work on. This means when the relevant stakeholders send me something I can approve there content, ensuring they use correct images copyright and title art. I create content sizzles and much more.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

New skills i've developed, there are a few. Not only has my confidence improved, but my presentation skills have also more than improved. I have delivered multiple presentations to senior stakeholders in the 8 months I have been at the company and continuing to earn on the job with problem solving seminars and other courses coming up.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the team ethic, and very much enjoy going out with my colleagues. The culture at Sky is what i expected, everyone works hard, in this fast moving environment and then plays hard. It has met my expectations.

4. How valued do you feel by Sky?

I feel my team value my input, and regularly receive feedback, whether it be from my weekly 121 or my yearly PDP. I get scored against other doing the same role and note where I can improve and where I need to continue to grow.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The initial 2 day induction was clear and made us feel valued due to senior stakeholders introducing themselves at very short notice. We were paired with a buddy and a mentor to help as we were new. It was hard to work out the hierahey of my team to start with as everyone was friendly. The coursework part can sometimes be hard to find time, but the quality of my work is good.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

The training provider comes in once a month, I send over my tasks and await feedback, although this can take a few weeks, and therefore leave me with a lack of time to complete amends before they come. Some feedback i receive is a little ridiculous sometime but on the whole I accept most of it. The guidance is ok

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

Main support comes from my manager and mentor or buddy if i have any problems. I feel like I can go speak to any of them If I have any problems and they have an open door if I need to talk to them.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

The salary in my first year is ok, I feel that my contribution to the team deserves to be rewarded more due to travel costs from the location, although the share scheme and other package needs such as discounted tv are very useful to have

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

Outside of work people play sport, and the on site gym allows us to stay in shape. This can be during the day or after work. My team allow us to go during the day as long as we get our work done.

9. Would you recommend Sky to a friend?

9b. Why?

It's good fun, and you get thrown straight in to the deep end, and subsequently rewarded for it.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sky?

Ensure you are confident, speak up during training days and know what you want to get out of it. Whether you want to stay, what team you would like to move too? etc
