  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within the Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) & Services sector specialist team within large corporate companies. On a day to day basis this involves getting involved with organising roadshows for products that the team are launching, meeting customers and seeing how the bank can help their business, tracking High Growth Business' and distirbuting them to the correct relationship manager who will then make the effort to try and meet these customers. I have been involved in producing business briefs for colleagues when they go out to visit clients so that they are aware of the background of their business and the financials within the customers business.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme a lot. I am learning things which I would not typicaly learn in a classroom or at university. I find that I learn best when I am out experiencing and working first hand. I enjoy the programme a lot as I am learning lots of practical/hands on skills which you would not learn in a classroom and these are valuable skills to have too.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by NatWest?
  • I feel very valued by RBS. Everyone is very friendly and everyone is willing to help you no matter who they are. I feel like I could ask anyone for help and anyone would be willing to give up some time to help you. Coming into a workplace for the first time can be quite daunting but everyone that works in the office was friendly and are always willing to help.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised and structured. The Exam is at the beginning of the programme which means you get the hard part out of the way first and you can relax a bit more. The programme also means that what I am learning with my training provider I tend to find myself practicing and talking about on a day to day basis.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The training provider provides a lot of support. They are always on hand and I have about 4 or 5 different people who I can contact if I ever need help. We can also email our training provider and ask questions on our work or advice or certain assignments etc. I think that we get quite a lot of support and guidance overall from them.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I recieve a lot of support from my employer and dont believe that the transition would have been as smooth without them. My line manager is always on hand to help with any problems or worried i have and so is my team, as well as the people who I sit with in the office. The support from the employer is very helpful overall.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary pays very well and meets my cost! The salary is well paying and you're getting paid whilst you're learning something new and getting the work experience as well! When i was looking at different apprenticeships the salaries i saw at other companies did not compare to that of the RBS one. I'm really grateful for the wage im on.
