  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Each day i would come in and be assigned a challanging task but as time when on i got much better at what i was doing and able to get through them with a much better paces. The tasks involved mot,ing cars changing tires and fault code reading.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes i developed my existing skill learned through my university course.I also developed my people skills and learned to work within a team. It also got me use to working a 5 day week which i had not experienced before

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed working within the team at volvo they where good to get along with and they understood i couldn't get things right first time.My exception where kept and each day i went excited to face the challenges i would be assigned

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Volvo Group UK?
  • I felt as though i was helping with the general work load and as though i was a benefit to the team. Although i was only doing the easy tasks this saved time for other engineers to carry out more difficult tasks so i felt as though i was helping

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was extremely well organised and every one enjoy it.The induction and training i was given where well organised and people where always there to sport me

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • At first i was allocated a mentor/advisory and he would stay close by for most of the day. This helped me get to grips with most of the general jobs i had to do.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I revived a lot of support and when ever i go stuck i felt as though i could ask any member of the volvo team and they would help me the best they could.The HR team where very good at paying me and the apprenticeship pay was not to bad

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary package covered all of my costs and was aware the training i was being provided with was a good package and would cost a lot so didnt mind being paid an appentice wage. It was quite close by so travel didnt worry me and i still lived at home so living expenses where covered.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes they offered to keep me at volvo wants i had completed my degree they also give me a good reference. I also when on a charity football even with volvo

  • 9. Would you recommend Volvo Group UK to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because i felt as though the training i was provided with was state of the art.The team was so easy to get along with and you pick up many transferable skills


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Volvo Group UK?
  • Make sure you attend each day and are polite to the employees as they are putting in a lot time and patience to train you up.Do not take this opportunity for granted
