  • I am an administration assistant, my role includes answering telephone enquiries, reception duties, upkeep of company spreadsheets, writing staff letters, filing and other office duties including the running of company social media.

  • My skills using Microsoft office and other similar applications have significantly improved as well as my customer service and literacy skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my job and particularly enjoy my offsite training on a Friday as it gives me chance to confirm any queries with my tutor and meet other young professionals

  • I feel very valued in my work place as I am regularly given new training opportunities along with other benefits such as pay rises.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think my training programme is well structured as all the coursework is set in units and my Friday offsite training is weekly

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider gives plenty of support with training on a Friday and regular work place visits every month or two.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive good support from my employer. My line manager has meetings with me after training days to see if I require any assistance.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I receive above the national apprentice wage from my employer and when my bus ticket price increased the company kindly increased my wage to cover the difference

  • I am given various training opportunities outside work. For example I have been offered training to assist with the company health and safety management

  • Yes

  • I think apprenticeships are a great way to gain essential work experience as well as still getting qualifications that colleges provide. It gives you a valuable way to get onto the job ladder and earn money for your future.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Stockport Metal Fabrications?
  • Look into the career paths each apprenticeship can give you, some of them are really good and are worth going down for a good career.
