I am an administration assistant, my role includes answering telephone enquiries, reception duties, upkeep of company spreadsheets, writing staff letters, filing and other office duties including the running of company social media.
My skills using Microsoft office and other similar applications have significantly improved as well as my customer service and literacy skills.
I enjoy my job and particularly enjoy my offsite training on a Friday as it gives me chance to confirm any queries with my tutor and meet other young professionals
I feel very valued in my work place as I am regularly given new training opportunities along with other benefits such as pay rises.
I think my training programme is well structured as all the coursework is set in units and my Friday offsite training is weekly
My training provider gives plenty of support with training on a Friday and regular work place visits every month or two.
I receive good support from my employer. My line manager has meetings with me after training days to see if I require any assistance.
I receive above the national apprentice wage from my employer and when my bus ticket price increased the company kindly increased my wage to cover the difference
I am given various training opportunities outside work. For example I have been offered training to assist with the company health and safety management
Yes
I think apprenticeships are a great way to gain essential work experience as well as still getting qualifications that colleges provide. It gives you a valuable way to get onto the job ladder and earn money for your future.
Look into the career paths each apprenticeship can give you, some of them are really good and are worth going down for a good career.
