  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job title was shop supervisor. My main daily tasks included restocking shelves and helping customers with any issues. I received my daily tasks from the store manager who also gave me advice on any issues I had during the day. I was given a different area of the store to work in. For example, one day I'd be working all day in groceries and another in electronics. I found this activities to be mildly enjoyable.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the work experience to a medium extent. Although, I learnt new skills. I feel the work was not demanding enough. The roles given to me were not enjoyable and they were very repetitive. I enjoyed working alongside other staff who supported me. I also engaged in activities with other staff whilst on break periods. This was very enjoyable.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Tesco?
  • I feel not highly valued by Tesco because the role I was given was a basic one. My job did not require me benefit Tesco in a business sense , but more in a practical sense by restocking shelves. The job is easily replaceable by someone else. Although, the the staff did support me and encouraged me.

  • The experience was organised in a well structures way, I was told to attend at the same time everyday, were the store manager would outline the roles of that day to me. Although, the roles were randomly given based on the support needed in that department, I was given clear instructions for the day.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I funded the money for daily cost and travel cost through savings. These savings were earned by previous jobs and also money given to me from friends and family. I have appreciated the help and generosity of other people, as this has helped me to focus and not worry about money issues. Tesco's provided me with free lunch through out the time.

  • There are many opportunities outside of work. This includes sport clubs, gyms, and community clubs. • 9. Would you recommend Tesco to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend the company as they provide a safe workplace and provide assistance to workers. They also support workers through their daily tasks and offer guidance where necessary. This indicates Tesco value staff highly. They also give roles which require the worker to plan and use their initiative when working.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tesco?
  • I'd advice people to contact their training providers or Tesco directly if they have any issues. I would also advice them to build a good relationship with staff and prepare themselves for the roles.
