  • Day To Day I spend my time working on Cad software and helping engineers with there work to produce engineering drawings to go to site and be built correctly and accurately. I have to work well in a team and make sure that I manage my workload effectively to get the job done on time and to a high standard

  • I have gained a BTEC level 3 and have improved my people skills as day to day I have to interact with people from all walks of life and work with them effectively and efficently

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme a lot it allows me to gain qualification whilst earning money and gaining industry experience at the same time which allows me to develop at a faster rate

  • Arup make there apprentices feel highly valued by rewarding you with good feedback and praise when you've done a good job along side promotions.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well from the work side but poorly from the colleges side, they are often unorganised and this can hinder performance there at times.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Arup give very high levels of support to their apprentices and the college does the best when it can despite only seeing tutors once a week unless there are NVQ reviews.

  • Arup give very high levels of support to their apprentices and will always do their upmost to help you develop and understand things and the college does the best when it can despite only seeing tutors once a week unless there are NVQ reviews.

  • salary at arup is very competitive and a highly valued part of the scheme for all apprentices as it allows them to become more independent at a younger age.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Arup have a good work life balance and often put on events or social meeting for all employee to attend and enjoy together along side the good working atmosphere in the office.

  • Yes

  • A brilliant place to work with all the support and requirement you need to gain the qualification and skills required to go on and have a highly successful career


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arup?
  • be confident, write a good CV and show an interest in the company learn a few background fact and if you get offered a job take it because you wont regret it.
